Transforming a Manuscript
into a Literary Work
The best writers understand the need for an editor’s revision. They know after working intently on a draft that some issues just become too close to notice. Deficient structure may reduce your readers’ level of interest. Sometimes, works include underdeveloped elements or elements with low impact that reduce their effectiveness. Improper word choice and inexact grammar often lead to lack of clarity.
Experience is Paramount
Focus on taking your work to the next level with a manuscript editor from our dedicated team. Whether you need manuscript proofreading services, ghostwriting services or book editing services for your upcoming best-selling novel, short story or historical biography, we have manuscript editors experienced in your genre waiting to work with you. Each year, freelance editors contact WordSharp. Only the best possess the academic standards, comprehensive experience in editing and proofing and a record of successful publishing necessary to become part of our team. How long does it take for your book editing services?
A member of our staff can usually respond within a few minutes. We complete longer submissions within one to three days. A manuscript editor will accept the project only if we can have the finished documents back to you before your deadline.
How much will it cost to professionally edit my manuscript?
We offer manuscript proofing for just a penny a word [$.01/word]. If you want our full manuscript editing service, manuscript proofing, style editing and structure, the total cost is just 2.4 cents per word.

We provide exact per word figures for ghostwriting, manuscript editing and proofing services. Send us your document and specify editing or proofreading.
How do I get a word count?
Send your document to us. We'll calculate the amount and send you an email invoice with a link to your payment options. You can also type "word count" into the help area of MS Word. It will tell you where to find the word count feature on your version.
Is there a minimum charge for manuscript proofreading and editing services?
To cover administrative costs, there is a minimum three-dollar [USD] charge. To avoid the minimum charge, you may send more than one document per order.
Do you rewrite manuscripts?
We offer ghostwriting services for authors. We offer suggestions to improve the organization of your manuscript when rewriting is not an option.
What about confidentiality?
WordSharp considers the issues surrounding intellectual copyright and confidentiality to be crucial. Only your manuscript editor and a WordSharp Managing Editor have access to your submission. Each of our staff is required to sign a copy of the Confidentiality Agreement, which ensures that under no circumstances can an employee share your documents with anyone outside of WordSharp. If you require a separate non-disclosure agreement, contact us. Unless you request otherwise, all client files are deleted after sixty days. WordSharp does not sell, trade, transfer, rent or share ANY client information with ANY other party. All documents reviewed by our manuscript editors remain the intellectual property of you, the original author. I check everything; do I need you?
Even the best writers benefit from an impartial, professional and thorough look at their work. Manuscript editors recognize things in your manuscripts that become unnoticeable to you. After you have done several drafts, reviewing and revising your words, that familiarity with the manuscript results in your filling in missing words and skipping over errors when you read.
When you're done, will my work be ready to publish?
Your manuscript will be print-ready subject to the state of the document when submitted to us and subject to individual publisher specifications.
You won't change my special formatting, will you?
No, we work on all sorts of styles, dialects, special kinds of formatting and other types of creativity. If there is something you do not want us to edit, mention this when you email documents.
May I explain something to my manuscript editor?
Of course you may explain things to your editor. Once it arrives, your manuscript is quickly routed directly to a chief editor who is familiar with, and appreciates, your type of work. A Client Services representative will be happy to relay your comments and queries to your manuscript editor and then send the answers back. WordSharp manuscript editors and clients do not talk directly to each other before or during the process. Your audience will not be able to chat with you while they read your manuscript. It must be able to stand on its own merit, and your manuscript editor has to be able to review your work objectively.
May I quote my manuscript editor to promote my work? May i use the WordSharp name to promote my work?
Any feedback you receive from your manuscript editor is for the purpose of improving your work. WordSharp does not endorse or promote specific documents or manuscripts.
How do I take advantage of the affiliate program?
Refer someone to WordSharp and receive a 10% finder’s fee. They should include your name and email address when submitting their document. The person you refer receives a 10% discount too.
Do you have any special offers?
For a limited time, let us know you read it here and receive a total of 20% off of your next project. Combined with our new lower rates, now that's an offer!
Still have questions?
Contact us directly with your manuscript editing questions. One of our chief editors will be more than happy to discuss your project with you and provide any additional information you may require.
